Co-Own My Home Inc. was founded with the sole purpose of assisting clients into home ownership in Ontario.

Frustration is real for many families shut out of the home buying process, our unique co-ownership solution directly addresses this problem.

Our co-ownership clients benefit from our combined 30 years of building, developing, investing, real estate sales and mortgage broker experience in Canada and the United States. Co-ownership of property is not for everyone, however it provides a realistic way into homeownership for the average family.

Meet the Founders of Co-Own My Home

John Gimblett

President and co-founder of Co-Own My Home Inc.

John is an experienced 10 year veteran Ontario mortgage broker. He co-founded Co-Own My Home Inc. as a result of his frustration in not being able to help solid clients who could not qualify for a purchase simply due to increased qualification standards. House prices, interest rates and income qualification standards have created barriers to home ownership.

What is John’s solution?

Utilizing 30 years of real estate experience, it became clear co-ownership was the only path for clients that did not have additional support from family or friends and so Co-Own My Home Inc. was born. Clients have come to trust and depend on John’s extensive experience. Helping clients is what John does best.

Experience

Successful serial entrepreneur experience best describes John. From 22 years of co-owning/operating a leading real estate brokerage, co-ownership of Northumberland Homes, a successful home building company, to founding and selling a California headquartered online real estate company, to Monster.com. John has a wealth of knowledge and experience.

My day!

Combining work with family is the key to success. John shares 5 children and 5 grandchildren with his wife and partner Lea-Ann. Personal time is all about family and their interests.

Lea-Ann Gimblett

Lea-Ann is co-founder of Co-Own My Home Inc.

Lea-Ann is an award winning experienced Realtor. Additionally, she is one of the few individuals dual licensed as a mortgage agent and real estate agent in Ontario. Lea-Ann’s clients benefit from her knowledge of both businesses. Acknowledged as a student of the business, she became aware of the perfect storm building in 2022-2023 caused by house buyer qualification standards, increased prices and huge interest rate increases. Many of her clients could no longer qualify to buy even the most basic home. She became determined to find a solution in an attempt to help.

Lea-Ann and Co-Ownership

Clients that cannot qualify to buy may be doomed to continue renting in a current hostile rental market. She co-founded Co-Own My Home utilizing her real estate and mortgage experience to provide a viable solution to the problem. Co-ownership may be the only path forward to ownership for many Ontario buyers.

Service

In addition to experience and trust Lea-Ann’s clients have come to appreciate the high level of communication and availability. First time home buyers have remarked on her patience and willingness to share her wealth of knowledge.

What spare time?

When not working and maintaining a home Lea-Ann enjoys spending time with her 5 grandchildren she shares with husband John. Family comes first, but she enjoys classic car shows and can be found at any Simcoe County Show and Shine.
